How did we do?

Compassion in the community

There are no words, Bill was just amazing, so kind, compassionate and did not even hesitate to help me in a time of need, no questions asked !!

Worth a drive

Let’s help new families and donate your clothes! My father passed away recently and wanted to give his clothes, shoes and bedding to families who need assistance. I drove 140 kms one way to Oakville from Orillia area to drop off 10 Bags, for this great charity! It made me feel sooo good knowing I’ve brought my Dad’s things to a charitable organization who needs our help!! Thank you and see you next time.

Help, and a smile

Excellent place to get some help in case of emergency. Bill and the folks that work there always have a smile to listen you and give a hand.

A highlight of the community

We took our girls here to volunteer and learn about less privileged people in our own neighbourhood. It was a great experience, we got a tour and a history behind safety net as well as we got to help organize and sort donations. This is a great place to bring your donations. Always check their website to see what they are in need of.

An amazing charity

The work Bill and his incredible team do to help those in need in our community is unbelievable. Its about helping people but more so it’s about changing lives. The world needs more Bills!!! Our community needs to support Safetynet in any way that we can, so that they can continue to do the amazing work they do.

Full circle support

An incredible group of people doing incredible things for those in OUR community who are less fortunate. We have always donated to this organization because they ensure those who need it most are provided for not only with clothing but with full circle support and mentoring. ++

Effective Tutoring, Supportive Environment

In 2 lessons, my sons MATH marks rose by 15%. Now my Daughter is tutoring with him and we are so grateful as there is no way I could afford the one to one help. Bill and his Volunteers are so welcoming and supportive. If there is anything they can do, they will!

Hidden gem

Bill and his outstanding team of high quality volunteers such as “Cathy”, the young vibrant retired special needs school teacher need to be applauded. “BILL…DO YOU HAVE ANY SHOES? YES RANDY..THEY HAD BRAND NEW BROCKPORT AND DESIGNER SHOES….UPON EXITING…I COULDN’T HELP BUT NOTICE WHAT BILL WAS WEARING…A VERY SEASONED AND WELL USED PAIR OF CASUAL SHOES. Immediately, the following cliche comes to mind. “I’d give you the shirt off my back”. Some say it..others just do it…Safetynet deserves kudos.

Helping newcomers

Our church is sponsoring a Syrian refugee family. Bill has been amazing.- always smiling, always willing to help with clothes, shoes, diapers etc. I wasn’t even aware this place existed previously, but will be taking all my donations there in the future. A Godsend for people who need a little help.

Lifesaving support

The services at Safety Net have been life saving…! The kind and genuine support I’ve received is so comforting and generous. Bill is almost like that Uncle you never had who just wants you to be happy and make sure you have what you need.. And although I don’t know him well, the few times I’ve seen him I can just tell he loves what he does. I wish him all the good karma he deserves 🙂

Gaining confidence

Through the services offered by Safetynet, my daughter has been taking music lessons and has been receiving tutoring. She has benefited tremendously from her one to one lessons and help from her caring, dedicated instructors. She enjoys the time that she spends with her instructors. They have given her more confidence in her abilities, and improved her self-esteem.

Dignity for our clients

I think Salena the volunteer is beautiful, and helps me find clothing at Safetynet. I feel dignified with the clothing they provide.

Overcoming obstacles

I have been going to Safetynet for over a year. I am a single mother of two girls, both of them are receiving tutoring, and music lessons. Bill Shields is the kindest, funniest, and most giving person I have ever met. He will go out of his way to help anyone. He has helped me with food, furniture, and welcomed advice for the obstacles I am trying to overcome. Every single one of the tutors that volunteer there are the kindest, most patient people. They have helped my daughters with the struggles that they face. I really don’t know what I would do without Bill and Safetynet. Thank you so much for everything you have done and continue to help me with!

A blessing

I met Bill the founder of Safteynet about 2 years ago when I was referred by a friend to get help with pull-ups for my son. Since that time Bill has been a blessing in my life and my child’s life. There has been an incredible amount of help from Bill with clothing, tutoring and toys for my son. This has helped me in so many ways and has given me the ability to give my son all he wants. I would like to say thank you to Bill at Safetynet for what he has done for my family and the community.
